WENDY NEWMAN’S life work is the exploration of the true nature of beauty, beginning with her work in Western style beauty as a Fashion Editor at Harper’s Bazaar and later as the Director of Prada in the U.S.
Since leaving the fashion industry in 2001, Wendy has been traveling the world, documenting diverse kinds of beauty, often in the most unlikely of places. From the most superficial beauty to the most authentic and even transcendent, her work has taken her from New York to the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, and the Himalayas, and finally to a small village near the Ugandan border with Tanzania, the location for her portfolio Rosemary’s Garden.
Wendy was most fortunate to study extensively with Phil Borges and Steve McCurry.
Her work has been featured in Blackbook Magazine and has been shown in The Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
Wendy lives in Manhattan.
